I had the honor of working with Firewalk Studios to create one of the hero characters for their game, Rocket Jumper. This character was an incredibly fun challenge to create. I was given a rough concept and tasked with creating the character from scratch within 2.5 months.
I was also responsible for creating the face for this character. I used MetaHuman to create a base, which I then sculpted the forms of the face to create her unique look. The weapon and weapon arm were created by the Firewalk hard surface team, and the hair groom was outsourced to another studio.
One of the last costumes I got to work on was a variant for this character, Gardener. I was responsible for creating the costume Gardener is wearing for their second variant. The base character itself was created by Firewalk, as well as the weapon.
This was another uniquely challenging character to work on. Our production on the variant overlapped heavily with the creation of the base character on Firewalk’s side. In order for me to stay on schedule, I got to work very closely with the team who was creating the base so I could implement changes on the fly. I was certainly kept on my toes, but I am very proud of what I was able to accomplish with their team.
